ABOUT the job offer
We are looking for an Engagement Editor who can manage the media’s digital presence on a daily basis, optimize the circulation of our content, and strengthen audience engagement. We’re seeking someone with strong communication and writing skills, capable of bringing our content to life across digital platforms and in public-facing spaces. This role is similar to a social media–oriented desk editor: someone who understands journalism, masters the nuances of digital language, and knows how to adapt content to capture attention without distorting its meaning. The position combines editorial distribution, community engagement, and on-the-ground presence.

roles and responsibilities
Sharing content online
- Ensure the daily publication of content (website, newsletter, social networks)
- Adapt content to different platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Facebook)
- Write catchphrases and publications adapted to the codes of each media
Editorial valorization of content
- Translate articles into engaging formats (angles, hooks, short formats)
- Ensure the consistency of the tone, language and identity of La Converse
- Collaborate closely with the editorial team
Community engagement
- Ensure the moderation and animation of platforms
- Interacting with audiences in a proactive and respectful manner
- Identify and nurture relevant conversations
Field presence and events
- Cover live events, conferences, and activities (stories, quick content)
- Participate in marketing activities (tabling, meetings, community initiatives)
- Representing La Converse to audiences and partners
Watch and reactivity
- Ensure daily monitoring of news and digital trends
- Identify content and distribution opportunities
- Contribute to the editorial responsiveness of the media
Analysis and continuous improvement
- Track performance indicators (commitment, reach, growth)
- Identify concrete areas for improvement
- Adjusting streaming practices
Working hours
28 heures par semaine
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in communications, media, or community engagement
- Excellent writing skills with a strong sense of tone, language, and audience
- Good understanding of journalism and editorial standards
- Strong grasp of social media codes (formats, pacing, tone, hooks)
- Ability to navigate different language registers, including expressions rooted in Montréal’s diverse communities
- Highly comfortable interacting with people, able to engage with diverse audiences and represent the organization in public settings
- Ability to produce, adapt, and publish content quickly and with rigor
- Collaborative mindset, strong initiative, and autonomy
- Excellent command of French and English (written and spoken)
